Konami probably hoping players would shift out of current meta into pendulum meta so this deck can actually shine against spell meta but the idiots forget that monsters effects and traps are still needed to make a deck and that this is the most basic rule. If Konami wants Thai deck to play they would need to drop the ban hammer hard across the board to jump into a pendulum meta.
If they make Yuyas deck meta tier one with some broken 🔥 skill dark paladin would be the only one who can consistently stop his plays. This is probably Konamis stupid plan to sell this trash.
Even that may not work all the good pendulum cards have floating effects when destroyed that give you even more advantage, if yuyas hypothetical skill would is placing some special scales on the field dark paladin wouldn't be able to negate them since it can't respond to skills
Not to mention that if your opponent play 1st and place the pendulums on the field your paladin will be just a vanilla monster for the rest of the duel. And yes, Yuya as it seems will become the new meta character, just like Yuki onomaros last year wih the difference that Yukis deck costs around 12$ whereas odd eyes cards are scattered in 5 boxes...
Why everybody is crying about the limitation of fusion monsters in dark paladin skill? Ofc this limitation is to aid the actual purpose of the deck, to summon dark paladin. Without this limitation EVERYONE would just choose to fusion Dark Cavarly instead.
Here's a not-so-wild guess: because the skill is not good and the purpose of it being limited to an old monster from boxes ages ago that they're trying to pretend is new with alternate artwork does it no favors? Dark Paladin didn't really age well.
