Kidmodo says WHEN is sent to graveyard it can summon. When you use her effect two things happens, first you discard, second she is not destroyed. Since kidmodo being sent to graveyard isn't the last action it loses timing. When means exactly after(no action in the middle), it's different if tou had IF instead of when. If the effect says IF (condition) it means that you can activate the effect
Regardless of the fact the condition being met is last action occuring in game or not. So if you see written When(condition) the condition must be met as the last action in game to activate the effect. All this in little is what missing timing means. You miss timing when a condition is met on a when(condition) effect but something happens and the condition being met stops being the last action
Discarding a card is a cost. A card activation goes in this order . Paying cost, playing it, chain resolving then card resolves. Since discard is a cost , you pay the cost than effect activates making kidmodo lose timing
