No it does not. Just do not destroy his black pendants. Prioritize destroying his ecto and infected mail only. Emperor's holiday is there to deal with black pendant.
Sorry if it came off as rude and you are right about dm if that happens. I haven't experienced him equipping 2 pendants on DM simply because he tends to equip them on his weaker monster as soon as he gets them.
