Fur Hire: deck recipe [Nov 3]

Jake the Cardmaster
These Fur Hire decks can be pretty evil to play against because they can easily the fill the board with monsters, draw a bunch of cards and they will usually be able to negate one of your spells or traps once per turn (by discarding a Fur Hire monster they'll just add back to their hand eventually). The best way to deal with Fur Hire monsters is to negate their effects. I was using a worm deck, which is not a strong archetype, but I find them fun and was trying to improve my deck. I was getting ROCKED, like every single game, by Fur Hire and wanted to crack the mystery of taking them down. First, I tried Divine Wrath, but having to discard a card to negate an effect is too hard on your hand (# of cards in it will be too low due to discarding to activate Divine Wrath). So that card didn't help much at all. Then someone played Memory Loss against me and I realized that was the card I needed to be using. Memory Loss lets you "negate the effect of any ATTACK POSITION monster and change it to face-up, defensive position". It doesn't work against monsters activating effects from attack position, but it still comes in handy VERY often against Fur Hire. I added 3 copies of Memory Loss to my deck and really turned things around against to furry bastards.

We don't want to invest money or hard-earned gems for three copies of Memory Loss coming from a box that has been nerfed. No thank you Konami employee! :)

I wish I worked for Konami. But, as much as I assume we all love them, CCGs are pay to win at the lower and mid levels.

3x Memory Loss is the card to beat Fur Hire decks.

You not wanting to pony up for it doesn't change the fact that the card is in the game and it's effective against this deck.

I totally get not wanting to spend money, but CCGs basically require it.

Plus, like any company that makes a CCG, the cards tend to get more powerful over time to keep you buying, so you STILL have to buy more cards to compete regardless.

I just wish I had 3x of every card so I could really enjoy deck-building to the fullest.

Just getting an optimal Fur Hire or Sylvan deck still requires you to buy 3 boxes of 70 packs each. You might get lucky here and there, but that 3 Komomushroomo will usually require buying the box at least twice.

If Konami didn't realize Wiz. This deck would have been fine. Decent deck but not 🔥. I don't know why they have to put out such a crazy combination... The deck has everything it needs...

I agree with you on that. The ability to negate a spell or trap once per turn is very powerful. The fact that you have to discard to do it would even it out if it wasn't so easy for them to draw or return cards to hand from the GY.

If they limit Wizard to one copy,or MAYBE two, Fur Hire is suddenly a balanced deck.

Still, 3x Memory Loss is the way. Kills Silent Magicians decks as well.

The only other reason for Konami's current balancing might have been the fact that Fur Hire has so little attack power. If they can't activate their removal effect, they can't win a battle against any monster with 2550 or more ATK power.

Maybe they were afraid the deck would be too weak with such low attack and anything less than a very good way of dealing with back row. Kind of like Harpies?

They have a 2500 att beater themselfs and can have multiple lvl5+ on the field to boost the lower one(s) with beatdown skill. Also Wiz her defence is super high

Also w

With lot of monster removal you dont need lots of high att monsters.

That's a good point, they can raise their attack well above 2500 in bursts.

What about that card Mistaken Accusation? Can that limit them to one copy of a card?

At first, I thought, "nice find"... but then I realize that Memory Loss is an SR card.

Konami shouldn't be given credits for releasing a "counter" that is an SR card-- the thing is many players won't be able to afford them.

Besides, Memory Loss is competing with Forbidden Chalice, another SR card from a mini-box. The only reason you'd take it over Chalice is to deal with Silent Magician.

Also, none of those cards would work if the FH player uses Cosmic Cyclone or Hey Trunade. But the reason you don't see those that often is the same-- most people can't afford them on top of 3 Beat.

Mistaken Accusation would stop them from activating their effect, but they can still be summoned. Also its activation condition is a bit strict, plus it is still vulnerable to Trunade and C.Cyclone.
