Robot Buster Destruction Sword vs Metalmorph

I equip this card to my Buster Blader when Metal morph is equipped to my opponent's monster. When the opponent attacks it's not supposed the robot Buster negated the effects that increases their monster ATK by half of my monster?

Robot Buster Destruction Sword says face up spells and traps cannot activate its effects. It only negates when the character you are dueling says "My spell/trap activates!"
