ability won’t activate

I used assault wyverns ability in legendary duel mode I destroyed a monster and had blue eyes white dragon in my hand however The game didn’t let me activate the ability of wyvern?? Why

Hmm, I don't know I've had a lot of problems with abilities not activating. I just got out of a match where magician's robe wouldn't activate it's quick effect.
