Sorry i also forgot to tell you can add any defensive 2 quick play spells as well. Econ or headrush can work fine.

It can work, I made a beatdown deck for rank dues and it's remained undefeated. I use 3 peg, 3 tiger, 3 mammoth, 3 beacon, 2 crystal release, 2 wall of disruption, 1 sorcerer spellwall, 2 mask of weakness,

No, this deck won't work without the game upgraded to 5 monster and spell/traps slots. Essential cards like Crystal Beacon and Crystal tree don't work very well with only 3 spell/trap slots.
