Okay, apparently not many people are realizing that "skills" are the actual player skills, not the card effects.

As to the skills themselves, many have a new add on to the text saying: "You cannot Special Summon or activate monster effects until the end of the Main Phase of your first turn."

So that is the reason. Kinda bull Konami, not gonna lie. Guess we have to find some OTHER skills to abuse the crap out of.
