May I ask what issues you are running in to, because Rush is better fit in a destruction deck like Phoenix & you never want it to be destroyed by battle.
I would use econs instead of super rush because the point of fki is to destroy pheonix to destroy backrow, and so when pheonix comes back it can change the position of opponent monsters
I'd argue that using both is best. Now my deck isn't perfect by any means, but its so flexible that I can make anything happen w/ whatever hand I get. Having 1 ECon & Rush together keeps ya loose~ (don't hate on mah Worm, he's just for fun~)
i never used island to destroy phoenix since they destroy each other when phoenix respawns. just use island to special summon. super rush can be used on your other monsters before it's destroyed
-2 srh +2 econs +1 island -1 card of the soul -2heavy knight +1 goka +1kuriboh +2 gale lizard/hane hane
Most important thing: change the skill to beatdown.
I already reached kog with this. Phoenix should be able to carry you to kog. If you're stuck, then it's probably your way of playing. This deck is hard to master imo, don't give on it yet.
You should try not to rely on FK Island at all. It can literally screw any of your plans if the opponent sets it off when you don't have the right cards. Basically giving them a free turn.
No, island is essential. It is used to destroy phoenix and search for yaksha. My suggestion is if you have only 1 phoenix, after destroying it via island, don't summon anything. That way you won't lose any pf your monsters for free.
Another trick: if you have 2 island in hand, you can use the furst one, activate the first effect, then set the second one face down before summoning yaksha. That way your phoenix will not be destroyed next turn when it comes back.
Its really not as Island wasn't even made for Nephtys, which is why it backlashes so hard. Its mere coincidence that it CAN work w/ Island enough to be considered for deck. Yaksha is more key to destroying Phoenix than Island & w/ only 1, maybe 2, Island(s) in my Phoenix variations, I can whole-heartedly say that FK Island is not 100% needed to play Phoenix. 'tis but a crutch.
It's easier to destroy phoenix via island. With yaksha being a 1800 beater, there's sometimes your opponent can't beat it. The goal of this deck is to lock down your opponent's backrow asap using phoenix. Waiting for yaksha to die can sometimes cost you a game. You could say that i just have to set yaksha but no, I'd rather force my opponent to spend their sources to deal with it.
I mean, if your variant works then good for you. I'm not trying 🔥 talk you bro but me and my fellow phoenix users all use island and we all reached kog. I hope you get my point with island tho. And good luck using this deck :)
Just because a FKI wasn't made for Nepthys doesn't mean it's not essential. Like, Treeborn Frog wasn't made for Monarchs, yet it is essential. Jowls of Dark Demise isn't made for Mill decks, yet it is essential for Mill decks, etc.
Too many Anons... then only replying to the last one as the first two seem chill.
- You are confusing Essential for Handy. Treeborn works with Monarch because they get along just fine w/o a Backrow & Jowls is in NO WAY necessary for Milling. Never ever seen it in Mills b4 Duel Links and it's likely staying that way.
These situations aren't comparable to Nephtys', where it's effect can & WILL backlash the unprepared. Granted, it took some convincing to learn&test how Phoenix CAN get around it, but that even more says that FKI isn't meant to be played w/ Nephtys, just that you can get around the negatives.
So once again: Not saying don't use FK Island because it's not USEFUL, but don't RELY on it so hard.
