Agreed. I will take this over Soul Exchange anytime, which is an UR card. Both has pro and cons, but being able to attack on the same turn is so good and only 1 copy is needed for a lvl 7 or 8 monster, even though a normal one.
Soul Exchange is generally a lot better than Ancient Rules. Like way, way, way better. To even compare them is kind of ridiculous. Soul Exchange takes a monster off the board and lets your summon effect monsters, not just normals. Soul Exchange will only improve as the card pool expands, while Ancient Rules will get worse.
Such a joke. The problem with soul exchange is that you lose an attack turn which you may have won already with ancient rule. Forcing your monsters sitting around for another turn doing nothing is the kind of lazy 🔥 mentality. Ancient rules is almost always paired with a high atk monster so taking down their monster is not so surprising.
Ancient wish is also a special summon, so you dont lose your normal summon on top of it. Good luck with having soul exchange if your monster requires more than 1 summon and will almost always a dead card at multiple points having to wait for opponent to summon a monster first in order to use soul exchange. What more? Wouldnt have to waste gems on a nearly useless large box.
Well good luck trying to overcome against a master of oz with ancient rules + blue eyes. For the weak monsters, you are right, skipping the battle phase is not really good but soul exchange can get rid of any problematic monster (except a few) and is applicable for both normal and effect monsters. ancient rules is a cool card as well but it is only an f2p version of soul exchange imo
