I have a question... Since it is a quick play spell card, can I chain this to other ST and prevent their effect from being activated? Like say, chain Cyclone to ECON, does ECON effect still activate on my monster?
I'm thinking no but need confirmation from pro gamers here...
Yes, the effect is still there once ECON is chained and activated, you can't stop its effect by only banishing the card.
Field Spells like Mausoleum is different. Once you activate Mausoleum by paying LP and the opponent chained Cyclone to banish it, then the effect on tributing higher monsters wouldn't work. It means you wasted LP for nothing.
it doesn't say "negate" in its text. so as long as the spell/trap don't have to be face up on the field to activated (e.g. continuous trap or equip spell) the effect will still be activated.
