Well the DM itself is full of character that is not MC (Joey) and a bit of Yugi.

It’s something called “Main Character”, as if the whole show of DM isn’t about Yugi. I mean there’s some moment that isn’t Yugi, but that’s the same with GX like Syrus or Chazz moment

Yeha but they could had added other battles in the Chronicles that didn't involved Jaden, like Zane vs Jaden (when Zane wins) or Bastion vs Chazz

Even if you don't have the character you can play the chronicle duel.
Using the character just grants you extra coins.

Agreed. IIRC, most duels were lost games by other duelists. Only Jaden won 99% of his duels.

Anyway, it's a shame because the last DC involved having to use different characters if you wanted extra coins. Shame not in here.

I guess that they wouldn't have had time for all of Jaden's character development if they did too much with the other characters. The episodes were maybe even less than 30 minutes and the duels take up a lot of one. The same thing happened in DM with characters like Duke who got pushed into a cheerleader role because they couldn't find enough time/balance to flesh everybody out. It is kind of sad.

I agree that it's somewhat unfortunate that all of the duels use Jaden. But short of splitting the first season of GX into two events, I don't think there was a way that made sense. Most of the most major duels were fought by Jaden. (I don't think this is a problem with the GX anime, actually. It's more a sign of how tough the Shadow Riders actually were IMO.)

It's worth keeping in mind that the duels are always from the perspective of the winner. So the only major duels that would have made sense that didn't involve Jaden were Chazz vs Don Zaloog and Alexis vs Titan. (They could've also used Syrus instead of Jaden for Para/Dox, but I think Jaden makes more sense there.)

Agreed. They had so many characters with interesting archetypes (Alexis' Cyber Angels, Ojamas and XYZs with Chazz, Crowler's Ancient Gears, Aster's D-Heroes), but every time a baddie showed up, it was Jaden who had to duel him. Always the same. It was hard to finish the entire show.
