Overall, I believe that this event is okay. I kinda like going around the board and the dice battles. It does get a bit monotonous after a while, though. The rewards are not very good, but sadly, I don't even expect that anymore. I'm pretty sure that Konami does not want to give us good cards for free ever again (except maybe some new character cards) because they are obsessed with doing whatever they can to make it so that you only use packs or EX decks to get good cards since good free deckbuilding means less money for them. My only idea is that they could have used the decks for this event for the Espa event too since then everyone would have actually always been using the monster types (dragon, machines, etc.), and it would have been easier for newer players.

The amount of free gems maintains the balance. It's a company at the end of the day.
The amount of people who complain about this so called p2w wall is ridiculous. If you grind you can easily fill your box with enough gems to buy a pack outright. Anything beyond that and you are simply complaining about odds from an RNG not going in your favour. Complain about drop rates all you want but if you all got 3 copies of the cards on the first day the event becomes unenjoyable.
Bit hey maybe I'm a bit biased since I don't play ranked unless it's to farm gems/challenges. I have a discord group of friends who I enjoy playing with. Maybe the problem actually lies in the fact everyone is complaining about meta decks too much and trying to recreate them. I can't say I have that problem with our discord group though.
meta decks influence ranked duels the most and the ladder win streak system is actually the reason why players prefer to use meta cuz losing a single match disturb Your chance of getting a promotion match big time so they go with meta decks to insure quick victory, you will rarely see a meta deck in any duel room
