The new unplayable LD from the mid-July event could also be the regular Marik.
Arkana doesn't belong in the same category as Yugi Muto and Mokuba Kaiba do, to me at least. These (currently) unobtainable characters are somehow similar to other characters we already unlocked (Yugi - Yami Yugi, Mokuba - Seto Kaiba). Marik and Yami Marik would fit better than Arkana - Yami Marik tbh. But that's just my opinion and as long as YM wil be the new unlockable LD, then I don't really mind (even if having regular Marik in the game would be super special awesome for me since he's my favourite character)
I agree. Considering the characters we have so far, the Yami and not Yami variation of Merik makes more sense than Arkana. I also think that Arkana would be a waste, no interest playing against him.
i agree, also regular marik forced everyone to watch yugi and joey duel with with the loser drowning, plus the mid event will lead up to the unlockable event
Of course Arkana is more likely because of the quote.
All I'm saying is that he just doesn't seem like a typical character for a Yugi or Mokuba-like event to me. He has more "unlockable character potential", like the Paradox Bros. And regular Marik is already in the game files, so he probably will appear at some point too (at leats that's what I hope for, don't destroy my hopes pls T_T ).
If they release Arkana, I hope he doesn't release some OP cards like Mystical Guillotine and Beckon to Dark. Those cards are some OP 🔥 including Shadow Balance.
