reason for PVP-duels?

Why exactly are people focusing on PVP-duels (ranked)? Just for the fun of dueling against real players? In my opinion the PVP-duels get you only a very small amount of EXP and usually shitty drops in the end of a match. When reaching a new tier for the first time, at least you got about 50 gems as a rewards. But it seems as if you won`t get any reward when you reach that tier again, not even after the reset at the end of a "season". So in my opinion it is much nore importabt to focus on duels against LD as they provide more EXP and good card/skill drops. In addition, a match against the AI is much faster than a match against a real player.

I play PVP only for fun I am not even looking at the meta I just like playing against real players and saying Weevil quotes

You get gems for playing people too. I've gotten at least 10+ UR, 30+ SR, and more from simply playing the occasional Casual/Ranked Duel. That and keys/gold are nice to get when you're out of Standard Duelists. After you reach a certain level with all your characters, its the only way to consistently get decent rewards that doesn't require you to spend some sort of meta currency.
