Essentially with what my deck is I can easily do that. My deck is as close to AIDS incarnate as you can get as it is composed of nearly all cards that destroy monsters, so all I do is put them in defense position, let them die or get their flip effect, and then bleed my opponent out of his monsters.

If you kill your opponent with Bate Damage from destroying the 5th monster, it won't count. Make sure your opponent survives after having 5 of their monsters destroyed only then kill them.

try and keep destroying more monsters in a duel and see if that helps, if it doesn't work then you can try contacting the support and see if it's a bug or not.
