Look under your stage missions for the unlock conditions for him. Its something like 2 comeback victories against him using yami yugi, use 2 counter traps against him in one duel using yami yugi, win 3 ranked duels, and inflict over 3000 battle damage with one attack. You also may not be at a high enough stage to unlock him.
