Here's my theory about statistics in the game. It's statistically SO improbable that I would play 20 pvp in a row, go through half my 20 card deck each time, and never pull one of my cards a single time.
I'm pretty sure it's not rigged, but I think that it's weighted toward a type of card you are more likely to pull. For example, I've noticed there are times when both me and my opponent will only have spell/trap cards for the first few turns - nobody can pull a monster. I think that the setup for that duel is weighted very heavily toward spell/trap cards. Each duel has a new "weighting system," making it more likely to draw your UR one game, then statistically improbable the next, then weighted toward low-level monsters, then the next toward your high level monsters (an opening hand with all 4 of my only high-level monsters on my deck? Really?)
This actually makes total sense, too. Think about Pokémon, another Japanese-created game. Battles are set up with statistics for things like critical hit, poison, burn, etc. This is nothing new to these games.
So how to beat the odds? Create a deck that puts you in control. Think about cards that allow you to choose (add 1 spell caster card from deck), utilize destiny draw, etc.
I think they actually make it this way to even the playing field a bit. Think about a deck with a couple of michizure and mirror walls. Cheap trap cards. Won't do you much good in a duel with a low trap weight, though.
That's my two sense. So is drawing completely random? Nope. But nothing in these games ever has been completely random, so it's nothing new.

This rng is rigged. Whenever a new event begins, the rng wants the player to get all the rewards from the event as soon as possible with pvp lost. Once the player gets all those rewards, the ranking pvp will be back to normal.

I feel like the pvp duels are rigged cause every time I duel, I kept repeatedly going first.
Just today, I have been going first 4-5 or more times in a row already and it’s getting annoying cause it ruined the fun of the game for me.

I’ve literally lost 8 matches in a row today with perfect hands. I will have a negate all effects card, destroy spell card and return to hand card with a skill that allows me to xyz summon almost instantaneously on the first hand and the second I end my turn the opponent has every single negate/ability/answer for every single one of those cards within their first turn which statistically speaking is almost impossible that many times in a row. I check their deck and the god hand they just played they only have 1 copy of each of the cards they needed to finish me off in their deck so my response is to report because how else does it make sense? Especially losing to a blue eyes deck that is become obsolete to use in platinum ranking but beats me down like a dog without fail. I have a deck that consists of 7 spell/trap and 13 monsters that is all super consistent and I’ve tested it multiple times before use. It just don’t make sense at all. Like it’s so discouraging that I don’t even want to play anymore.

This game has BEEN rigged for years. Starting hand difficulty increases as you move up in ranked. Its not right that I have to play against another player who has good cards AND a game thats rigged against me. I had 2 consecutive duels. Both duels i drew the EXACT same starting hand. Both duels my first draw was the exact same card. RIGGED. You'll constantly get the most trash hand when playing in Ranked but the most beautiful 1 turn hands playing against NPC. I really wish drawing was random.

Absolutely rigged! For years!! Play 10 games in ranked then 10 games against NPC's... your starting hands are DRASTICALLY different. People who actually think this game is random are the ones who get robbed by overseas "telemarketers" (scammers) when their older lol

You watch videos of peoples Road to KOG where they get all these perfect plays and the opponents dont have the cards or setups that are seen when I play. Ill watch a streamer make the same play in Legend 7 matches in a row and it doesn't get stopped. Ill be making the same play in Gold 2 and I lose everytime or just dead draw. I feel like Streamers are given favorable match ups as they promote the game and make Konami money. Its like watching a different game.
Ill think "Ok. Theyre facing that deck so the opponent is going to have this or that"...and I wait and it never happens. They then face the same deck again, doesn't happen.
I go to play and face that deck 3x and all 3x I get stomped/OTKd

Im amazed that this game is not shut down. I know its because the algorithm only selects certain people and thats obvious, but its sad.
Ill start with 2 face up monsters and a 2 set card requiring monsters be face up. Opponent starts with 2 BoM and then a 2 card chain to destroy me.
2nd match I have a card on field that cant be destroyed by card effects and a quick play card in hand and should win this next turn. The opponent plays a monster that returns a card the my deck, avoiding the "destroy a card" clause...then summons a 2nd monster that can remove a card from my hand. This stuff happens in most of my matches and it doesn't stop. These scenarios of "RNG bad luck" should happen rarely, not as an every match occurrence...but it happens regularly because its meant to. Im meant to assume the loss is on me and I need better cards. Its their model.

Duel Links is so fixed.
You start with BoM, they start with Forbidden Lance to counter it. You play a card to set their incoming attack to 0, they have a card set that negates that and they destroy your monster, you use your monsters graveyard effect to destroy their monster, they play a set card to negate that and then beat you on their next attack.
The game faces you against decks that are 100% picture perfect counters to you and they are drawn at the same rate you draw. This only happens to a certain percentage though which is where they get away with it because not one single person ever ever ever in the upper ranks wwants to believe their matches are predetermined
