Not sure what your comment is getting at, but Instant Fusion Fusion Summons a monster (which, yes, is a Special Summon, but I'm assuming you mean it's not Fusion Summon). What makes your comment particularly baffling is that Neos Fusion DOESN'T Fusion Summon.

Ancient Gear Fusion, Lunalight Fusion, Invocation, Thunder Dragon Fusion. But Super Poly was in the banlist for a long time.

Between Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz, I feel like Synchro is the neglected mechanic here.

Fusion has all those broken Fusion Spells like you said, while Xyz has all those OP Xyz monsters.

Synchro has what? Nothing ever really hits the OCG/TCG meta other than Formula Synchron, Hyper Librarian, and Quasar.
