The trap can't be used by itself, but it makes the deck more consistent, so it's not useless (when there is a copy of it in the deck).
This just likes Neos Fusion deck. Have you ever actually summon Elemental Hero Neos or it's just there for the fusion summon?
Yea it is useless in this case since there are no Assault mode monster in the deck to even be used. Therefore why is it even there? As for your comment about E Hero Neos, you can use it as both. It depends on the user. Now if you have Neos Fusion in your deck but no E Brave Neos or other related cards but other fusion monsters that it can't be summoned with, why even add it? It's just taking up
1) Summon Psi-Reflector to search out Assault Beast
2) Discard AB to search out Assault Mode Activate
3) Reveal AMA in your hand to special summon AB (and change its level)
4) Synchro Summon whatever you want
You NEED AMA in this deck. And 2 copies make it more consistent since you'd be screwed if you'd have the only copy in your starting hand.

It stays in your hand. You need it to get Assault Beast in the GY and to activate Reflector's effect. You don't actually need to run RDA or RDA/Assault Mode: we only care about Ancient Fairy Dragon.

I think just seeing the Trap Card and knowing they can't activate it, bothers them.
We can't shuffle RDA/AM back into the Deck without Switcheroo and we NEED a Field Spell Skill for Ancient Fairy Dragon to work. That's the idea.
