I can always guess when this card is being played (same as drowning mirror force)/ Alltough I don't want to be a copycat like everyone who uses this card, I think i'll make an exception for this one.
I've never gotten the whole "everyone's using this card, so I won't" mentality. I can get it from a deck archetype standpoint, but avoiding individual staples is stupid.
I really wouldn’t call this a staple. It’s actually terrible. Don’t get why people are still playing it (or any battle traps).
Every other match you’re facing people that negate until the end of the damage step.
Even if they DON’T, all the top decks are constantly taking monsters off the field and either putting them back or playing better ones, making this especially worthless.
From his comment you can guess that his friends were beginners at anything YuGiOh related.
Of course beginners with only a few months of experience won't play backrow removal or anti-magic arrows.
They are playing to have fun using a cool card that boost attack or do something flashy. Not to use removal/negate/etc. like effects that are often not considered cool among the younger generations.
Ah, I see.
My friends quit Duel Links for similar reasons. They hated people who played any control type decks.
Playing a game of biggest Atk boss monster is fun, but eating a wall of D, drowning or having your boss monster banished/negated/destroyed, won't attract new players into YuGiOh.
Molehu/Cybernetic Overflow/Judgment dragon worsen beginners playing experience.
The game managed to pis.. even P2W beginner players. Even the power of P2W by itself has a hard time getting players to stay on the game if they are not already into Yu-Gi-Oh.
A card is a GOOD card only because it is unFAIRly powerful.
It's harder to convince people to buy game contents for money if it is not UNfairly powerful.
I hope that this person's friends(both P2W & F2P) who quit Duel Links after spending several months on it still had fun playing the game during the first few months.
Thanks a lot.
In my school around 20 students per class participated in the Duel Links event. The purpose was to get students closer by playing the same game. Today though I feel as lonely as before for being the only DL player in my class.
The others quit the game because of those unfair cards as you called them. Either you own them or you own another unfair card that counters it.
Once, I actually won because my opponent got a bad opening hand and decided to just let the timer run out hoping I would be tired of waiting and move on before the timer runs out.
