Do you even know why people call certain cards "pot of greed" like effects? Pot of greed net gain is +1 (You use pot -1, you draw 2 so +2, total = +2-1 = +1
Valkyrus: the ritual spell -1, the tribute -1, the card you tribute for the effect -1, the card you get to draw +1, total: -3+1 = -2
