If they were good players they would be able to reach kog with aromages as well.

no, so many quick OTK decks. won't get KOG with aromage till like last 5 days of the season or so no matter how good you are

people are not trying hard.
If they would play floodgate or fiendish chain x3, I think the deck would be stronger (against the rest of the ladder).

But I bet people want to share f2p decks.

If my deck needs more than 100 cumulative wins from Platinum 6 to reach KOG, I will say my deck is bad. I usually need only 50 to 60 cumulative wins if I play tier 1 or tier 2 deck. But I am sure I need much more tha that if I play Aromages. Win streak is hard if you play inconsistent slow deck
