I literally have no idea how this stupid Unhappy Girl crap is supposed to be consistent. SO much can go wrong I'm like 0/5. He can just play Valkyrion and Guardian Spuinx in the same turn for insta-kill.
The cons of using Unhappy Girl deck: they were very reliant on the starting hand. It needs to have Rai-Mei/Unhappy Girl on the hand, without them, you're doomed.
That's not what I'm talking about. You can have that and still get crushed if he had order to smash and you didn't draw riryoku field. Also you can just die to Valkyrion plus normal summon, like I said.
What you need to do is set some protection for the Unhappy Girl. Like running Econ, Etaqua, this will save you for a turn. I tried using Unhappy Girl deck and I added Cat of Ill Omen just to increase my chances of having a trap card for the next turn.
I got UG or Rai-Mei in the starting hand most of the time. But my real problem is Yugi got his OTC very early, most of the time earlier than me to get Riryoku Field( 3 in my deck). You know sometimes I got Riryoku Field in the starting hand, but he got 2 OTC, happened many times already. This problem makes my Unhappy Girl deck not so consistent. That's why I switched to JBM deck, more consistent!
if you have good backup cards this wont happen often, for me in the worst case what i get 8/10 , i use javelin,apples and etaqua as backup cards they work good together.
The funny thing is that it works. You'd think it doesn't but it does, I have a personal combination that works and gets me around 7200 points after game. It's surprisingly reliable since the AI is like oh no I don't want to attack that card
It works because of stupid AI. All legendary duelists won't attack Unhappy Girl unless they can 🔥 you in one turn. If the AI is smart enough to know that it can attack your Unhappy Girl and then just tribute the locked monsters this whole Unhappy Girl deck would never work. Use this Unhappy Girl deck while you still can cause I got a feeling that they may patch the AI in the future.
another card that can be used to stall the AI like this is the Pinch Hopper. As i remember many people used it to farm in one of the events before. but only works with some LDs only. you can try
