As for Yami Marik The majority of his body was destroyed when "The Winged Dragon of Ra" was destroyed when he was merged with it. The remaining of his body was killed by Marik Ishtar after he surrendered during a Duel against Yami Yugi. (In the dub, he is sent to the Shadow Realm)
But marik Ishtar was saved

And in season 4, Mai has nightmares about Yami Marik, and we also see a brief cameo of his ghost or whatever. In season 5, Marik Ishtar is back to help Yami Yugi find his lost memories in Egypt, and then eventually watches the Yugis' ceremonial duel at the end.

He is also in a lot of the video games and fanfiction. I still rewatch the anime sometimes. Except for Kaiba, I actually don't really find the abridged series that funny anymore. My only real gripe (besides Marik missing here) is that Marik never had real roles in the movies besides 2 second flashbacks.
