Is that true about skill will replae card in next year?? Lately we always given skill that add card instead of using actual card. If that true sham on duel links
...Or, you know, it could just be too strong as a standalone card. There was not even a remote possibility of us ever getting Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon as a standalone card. But a Skill, with requirements to it, both works, and balances it. It also prevents you from then using a stronger skill alongside that card.
A triple-attacking 4500 ATK monster is definitely too much to be freely available in a 4000 LP format.
Also, it's not like being used by a Skill means it'll never come out as a card. Harpies' Hunting Ground was Skill-only for a long time, they even had to NERF the skill for a while before it was acceptable as a card. Now it's fine.
There are plenty of cards that will obviously never be player-obtainable, though. Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Monster Reborn, Mirror force, Harpie's Feather Duster, cards like that are obviously never happening. There's plenty of skill-exclusive cards we will likely eventually get, like Goyo Guardian or Fiend's Sanctuary, but there's also plenty we won't.
