The prices for the card upgrade at the trader are hilarious! I play the game for nearly 6 months now and was able to obtain 5,8k rare jewels so far. The price even for 1 glossy card with 1k rare gems is pretty much over the top!
it should rather be like bying the card for the original price, paying rare jewels to make it rare (glossy) and paying e.g. SR jewels to make it SR (foil). But paying 2k rare jewels is an hilarious joke to my mind. Not to mention, that only those cards can be upgraded that are available at the trader at the moment. Let's say you manage to achieve 2k rare jewels for your desired card to become foil and before you can acquire it, it's rotated out from the trader...

I guess they wanted to keep the prismatic as something of great value. Think about it, they're meant to be really rare cards. If it was cheap, the whole point of prismatic cards would've been lost. I still think they exaggerated, but it still has to be expensive.
Statistics. All companys do this. They do not just create random 🔥. Of course prismatic cards are the most rare item in the game. The prices are fair in order to maintain the value o the most rare item.
