If not mistaken, because the discard from hand is not an effect, it is a condition to special summon.

The other effect that send from grave obviously because it is not a cost.

It's not discarded by an effect, but by Swap Frog's special summoning condition, and summoning condition is not treated as an effect.

This is different than Abyssmegalo, whose discard and summon is an effect that requires manual activation.
