He was refering to the skill "up for the fight" and yes, "tie that binds seems superior.

If you only have one monster and it was summoned this turn, this skill is superior. But usually that's not the case.

well, "the tie that binds" is only superior if you control 3 monsters. Otherwise, "up for the fight" is either the same (when controlling 2 monsters), or superior (when controlling 1 monster).

But yeah, we really don't need them wasting data and skill slot for something as mediocre as one turn 200 ATK boost.....

Consider also the fact that the skill only affects monters summoned that turn. An dyou can use it once every turn.
