Oh no, you are commitment a mistake. This card can destroy spell/traps too, Tribute of the doomed on the other hands.

Tribute to the Doomed also cannot be used on opponent's turn, this however, can.

Tribute to the Doomed has its perks too though, like not needing to wait a turn to activate. Overall this is better though.
