I attacked into this with Exploder Dragon earlier today and he didn't die. I'm pretty sure Exploder's effect activates after damage calculation (wiki says from the graveyard) so I'm not quite sure what I'm missing.
Read it again. Its says nothing can activate until the END of the Damage Step, and only a handful of cards can activate then. Protip: Monster Effects aren't any of them. (Well, maybe like a Jurrac Herra or something?) Traps like Michizure is likely...but not guaranteed based on its card description.
Right, Exploder activates at the very end of the Damage Step, apparently, still within it's negation period. Although I assumed that as a mandatory effect instead of an "activated" effect it would still go off. I need to side some other cards for this...
Nope, not even "Destroyed by Battle" effects are safe from my tests. Flip effects definitely never had a chance. But, as someone already put it: Nerokius is GB's version of a AG w/out the Monster weakness.
I'm pretty sure Michizure can't be activated when Mr. Nerokius attacks. The activation time of Muchizure is "when your monster is destroyed" and that's gonna be within the damage step
