I dare say that this is the best monster card in the game currently, tied with relinquished. Ppl need to realize how game changing negating spell is. Almost every deck uses spell, bar dino beatdown.

Relinquished doesn't require nearly as much setup as this does while also not being vulnerable to destruction by battle like Dark Paladin.

And like having to use sonic bird + senju + tribute fodder + black illusion ritual is not much of a set up... Please relinq is not so relevant in the current meta with all the enemy controllers floating around now. Dark paladin is the perfect counter to the heavy spell meta we are in right now and if you can get him out quickly it's going to be game over vs most meta decks

Both Dark Paladin and Relinquished uses 3 cards from your hand.

Since Dark Paladin is from extra deck, you need only need 2 fusion materials (Buster Blader, DM or the fusion sub monster) and poly in your hand. 3 cards.

While relinquished is a ritual, so you need Relinquished itaelf in your hand, Black Illusion Ritual and the tribute fodder. Also 3 cards.

It's not a perfect counter because spending 3 cards puts you at a point where your card advantage just puts you down, not to mention that at this point you would only have 1 negation left since you spent 3 cards to summon it.

Let's also add that most of the time Relinquished only spent 2 cards from your hand because of Thunder Dragon shenanigans and Kuriboh being banished instead of tributing

Just 🔥 and try playing dark paladin yourself. Not only negate spell, dragon is everywhere in ranked. Card advantage is nothing if you can control the board.

you got to have a card in your hand to discard to use the effect so turn 1 you will have 4 cards -3 for the fusion so you can only stop 1 spell card to if some one have 2 OTC u can only stop 1 then your monster going to be gone

Card advantage is important when your damn monster depends on card advantage. Did you totally forgot that Dark Paladin needs to discard cards on hand in order to negate spells? Summon this turn 1, you only have 1 negation. If the meta is so spell heavy as you say that certainly means they're going to have 2 spells to defeat you. Also Mako is going to be meta, this card does nothing againstYomiShip

Who the 🔥 summon dark paladin turn one without protection?set up first, try to gain card advantage using crystal seer etc. Play it with last gamble also help creating your beloved card advantage. Im sick of seeing vanilla otc variants, yet konami help it by releasing red lotus lol. I want to try something new and fun to play. Like this badass dark paladin.

If someone CAN summon Dark Paladin first turn, it means they have 3 non-setup cards in their hand. The chance that the final card in their hand is Crystal Seer or something is then extremely small.

Uh ppl DO summon dark paladin turn 1. Why? To negate Black Illlusion Ritual, OtC and the currently meta TOON KINGDOM. If your opponent doesn't have anything, most likely they can only summon 1 monster, so they can only use 1 OtC or something

Not true at all if you have sphere kuriboh in the graveyard you can summon relinquished with just two cards in your hand
