Yusei is more serious than Jaden. Jack is more of a hotshot than Chazz. Crow is a solid support character, not really a rival, so I don't get the Aster comparison. Kalin is a freakazoid as a DS, and Akiza is the best female lead Yugioh has ever had.

As much as I like GX, it's a complete mess and 5Ds is a better written show overall.
