I just summoned a tenkabito shien card that reads "this card is unaffected by the effects of trap cards" yet champions vigilance destroyed tenkabito, if it negated the summon that would make sense if he went back into my hand, he can affect the summon sure but tenkabito went to the graveyard and that doesn't make sense, IMO champions vigilance shouldn't stop him from being summoned it's the whole point of this 1500 art card
Its a counter trap the effect is applied first so your monster effect is never applied b/c it never hit the field.the only way to stop counter traps is with another
I feel like people could try to debate this but it says one thing on the card. "this card is unaffected by the effects of trap cards" , it does not says "when this card is on the field... so it shouldn't matter where the card is, in the graveyard field hand or deck he should be unaffected by traps according to his card read, you have to ask one question; was he affected by a trap and yes he was
I agree with bryan this card should be immune to vigilance. I had a similar problem with graveskeeper oracle where a guy summoned him with 2 monsters even tho on the card it says 3 required.
The Oracle can be either summoned by tributing 2 monsters like any other 7+ star monsters (it will get 2 effects) or 3 monsters (to get all 3 effects))or you could just choose to tribute one GK to get 1 effect
Tenkabito Shien has a continuous effect and KONAMI RULINGS state that continuous effects are applied as long as the card is face up on the field, so no need to debate anything. :)
CV negates the summoning. Even if you SUMMON sorcerer of dark magic or jinzo (if it ever be made available), CV can still work because those cards did not yet enter the field.
Negating the summon of the monster overrides any effect the monster carries. A flipped Hane-Hane can't follow through with its effect if it is hit with CV. In that same respect, CV's text reads for Trap, Spell, or Normal/Flip summons - 'negate and destroy' and it happens in that order, first negating the summon, and then sending the card to the graveyard.
tenkabito's effect only activates if the card has been summoned, since CV negated his summon before he could have a chance to be actually summoned his effect was never activated (and tenkabito was never really summoned to the field).
