Here's my review of wind-ups (yeah I know nobody cares)
So: How does this deck starts it's combos? Looking at it I can say it is very shark; you'll need shark + any wind up monster to start a play, with only 3 copies in a 20 cards deck it looks like you'll brick very often. Any opening hand without shark is just set and pass.
They can swarm very easily (supposing you opened shark) with magician and zenmaity...now lest see what they can use that swarm capabilities for:
-boss monsters: Zenmaines is sadly a very slow stall tool, to get a benefit for its effect you have to actively ram it into a monster just to get rid of 1 card, losing a chunk of lp since it has low stats.
Zenmaioh: the pop 2 set cards sound good in paper but it is not; first of all traps nowadays can be activated at any moment in the turn the very moment this hits the field it'll get karma/Canadia/raigeki/etc.
Sadly for this monster it's effect is not upon summon so your opponent has more instances to disrupt it.
Conclusion: wind-ups are sadly very meh at first glance, the current xyz is bad at this moment and being very dependent of just 1 card (shark) to start everything will make them slow.
Same case with their bosses, they are very slow and their effects are nothing out of this world.
mmm it is worse and more expensive that invoked roid; invoked roids can search their materials, wind-ups can't.
Invoked roid has more stall capabilities
Yeah, the way wind-ups have been most effective, for me, has been through a joint activation of overwind and wall of disruption, but with all the back row clearing cards, it isn’t good very often. At least, with the new xyz, there can be better offense with the card clearing effects
