What is forbidden/limited card?

Forbidden cards are essentially "banned" cards, while limited simply means that you can only put 1 in a deck, semi-limited is up to two in your deck only. Some cards in the OCG/TCG are either forbidden, or limited, and this is due to their ability to create an unbalanced experience for the game.

Ruling

Unlike in the TCG/OCG where you can have multiple limited cards with different names in your deck, in Duel Links you can only have a total of 1 limited card in your deck. For example you have limited card A and limited card B, and you already put 1 card A in your deck, you cannot add card B to your deck even if they are not cards of the same name.
This rule is also true for semi-limited cards in which you can only have a total of 2 semi-limited cards in your deck.

I seriously wish Dual Wield would get on this list, I'm so sick of losing to every Six Sam player because of that one broken trap.
<< Anonymous
BWC Reply
Card is easy to play around opponent has to only have 1 monster on the field and if it’s not the Shi En it’s a lower level monster easy to take out. If you lose to this card opponent simply outplayed you very situational card
<< Anonymous(BWC)
Anonymous Reply
A situational card that's very easy to build said situation for. How is it my fault that I drew none of my trap removal and lost in 1 turn because my opponent just left out 1 Six Sam monster with a Dual Wield and World Legacy Clash?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Six Sams are very consistant, they very rarely don't have an out unless you're using a specific counter to them. 1st turn Shi En is extremely common, so getting a Dual Wield when you can use 3 in a deck isn't so hard to do.
Anonymous
Most of these bans are useless since there are lots of better cards already.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
That is just plain incorrect. There's maybe a couple (I guess Marshalleaf and Samurai Skull could probably leave the list at this point), but most of the cards on here are either strong enough to warrant it, or belong to decks that are strong enough to warrant it.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I agree with your statement.
I understand why they still limit Samurai Skull.
But Marshleaf? Sylvan is not even relevant right now. If the reason is because of Rose Lover, that's dumb because todays meta is not even revolving in usung traps anymore.
More of it just monster effect and spell.

Konami know many veteran players won't go through new boxes if some old cards were unlimited, that won't be good for Konami's business. They indeed unnerfed Red-Eyes Spirit, but it was because they need people to buy the Red-Eyes Structure Deck
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Spirit was unlimited waaaaay before the Red-Eyes box came it- it literally had 0 impact in the game anymore, so they could safely take it off the list
Anonymous
Next will be dark lords, say goodbye :)
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
There's no need to. Just give players access to Gravekeeper's Commandant, Terraforming, or Metaverse, and Darklords are dead.
Anonymous
All cards from EX deck should be forbidden so meta can be healthy.

That disappointing banlist with only 1 card last month. Minimum 5 cards should be added into the list everytime just like TCG!
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
The TCG doesn’t even hit 5 cards a lot of the time, the april banlist was only 3 after all
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Should have said OCG banlist instead, at least they actually thought about balance.
<< Anonymous

3 forbidden & 3 limited so a total of 6 in April 2019.

2 forbidden, 8 limited & 3 semi-limited, a total of 13 in July 2019 banlist.

I am only counting newly added cards. DL should learn from TCG.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
The TCG’s limited and semi limited section works completely different than the TCG, there not gonna follow their example

I couldn't care less about these ban lists.

All decks remain playable.

Amazoness cards are still playable.
You don't know it because maybe you spend too much time between terrible players, or maybe you think GameA is everything that exists.

Damn, the ignorant guy from the 1st reply got DESTROYED. Amazoness are still kog worthy, or being played in many different hybrid decks.

Their limitation was kinda evident by the way, they were VIABLE FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR.

Amazoness queen on second turn in each game? Lol This guy recorded and showed only his best matches with perfect hand.
There is nothing to help you survive when you don’t draw the Princess.
Any combination of trap spells from this deck is auto win for your opponent

They do nothing to improve the game. Limiting just 1 single card doesn't help much. Six samurai is still strong, Desperado and Neos Fusion are broken.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Six Sam have to choose between Dojo and Enishi now (or 1 of each). That is a heavy hit.

And they probably won't hit Desperado. They might hit some other cards instead. Some cards that are not locked behind a structure deck.

“why make a cure for people to buy once when you can just treat them for a lifetime and make a fortune” -Konami’s approach to why Neos Fusion and Desperado haven’t been hit

Ok that literally makes zero sense and goes against why a ban list actually exists.
