This is not an answer but another question(sorry) : I want to try the Japanese version as well but it seems like the Japanese option has been taken out from the language selections in the menu.
How did you do it before? Or did was the option there before because I don't see it now..
There's Chinese and Korean but no Japanese :(

You can change it back to english but you'll have to redownload the data again. In the home screen, tap on the gear icon and choose the third one from the top, then on the last one there choose english.
