Dark Cat with White Tail

So I set this card face down defense. My opponent attacks it, it flips face up, and I get the notification that the effect activates. However it then just goes to the graveyard, and I get attacked yet again by his/her other 2 monsters. Am I reading the effect wrong or does it just not work atm?

same happened to me, i had 2 monsters on m side and opponent had 2.

For the effect to activate, you must have a minimum of 1 monster card on your side of the field other than dark cat with white tail (and the opponent must have at least 2 monster cards on his side of the field). Futhermore, there are some monsters in this game that prevent the opponent from activating flip effects of cards destroyed by that monster.
