Ok can anyone explain to me
Pot of greed is banned card in TCG
But here we have a card that will allow you to draw two cards from the deck and return 1 card from graveyard almost without any conditions.
Just like a cherry on top of a cake
If you are complaining about Destiny Draw, it's true that it adds 2 cards, but you need to discard 1 Destiny Hero from hand as a cost.
Hand Balance: You lose Destiny Draw & a Destiny Hero (-2), but you add 2 new cards (+2). Therefore it's an absolute 0 in terms of hand advantage (+2-2 = 0).
Celestial has a lot of restrictions to meet before being able to activate its draw effect. It's good as it is. The truly insane cards are Hey Trunade and Treacherous Trap Hole. And Silent Magician.
Everyone re-read what op said. Yes, he didn't articulate it well but he is clearly mentioning 2 seperate effects here...
Firstly, the Celestial graveyard effect (banish 1 D-hero with it to draw 2)
Secondly, Decider's effect to add a hero from the grave to the hand during the end phase of the turn it is normal/special summoned. (ONCE PER DUEL BTW)
Everyone already mentioned/knows this but Pot of greed is a conditionless +1 thus making it literally usable in any deck!!!! That is broken.
Celestial draw effect requires you to have a completely empty hand to draw from it firstly, on top of the fact it requires another D-hero in the grave for that effect to work. This requires some serious setting up.
Please learn the difference between straight +1 for any deck (pot of greed), and a +2 that requires major set-up first and restricted to D-Hero decks (celestial)
Besides, the condition to use Celestial's effect implies you have to go minus sometime before using its effect.
My eyes don't deceive me, are you really trying to defend a card that has already been considered broken and semi limited? Big thumb down
All you need to do is set all the traps out of your hand and use the Mask change on some monster, so monster will go to the graveyard naturally, even without the help of an opponent.
Yes, I am defending this card in relation to the original post and this entire thread (comparing it to pot of greed). Don't strawman me, I know it is semi-limited but that is more due to the synergy with other semi-limited cards. You clearly have never played masked heroes otherwise you would have never posted this. Vyon is what made celestial broken.
Celestial is in regards to the modern metagame, a very slow card. Due to the limiting of Vyon, it is no longer an easy effect to activate when facing other "tiered" decks as it now is used mainly for comeback potential after your board is wiped. Celestial was mostly an issue in conjunction with cards such as "Hey-Trunade" which is also semi-limited.
Example of play: Opponent wipes out all of your field. You have celestial draw next hand with an empty hand. You draw into mask change but have to set it meaning it isn't activateable this turn and most likely will lose you the duel if you don't play anki. You set it and celestial draw. You draw into trunade and another D-hero! Play trunade, send cards back to hand and boom, you can mask change.
Back when you could have 3 vyons, you could easily use them to dump your celestials into your graveyard to activate their effect early. With how quickly you could go through your deck with them and destiny draw back then, it was easier to win. And yet there are so many more complaints against this deck now for some reason...
Literally strawmaning me... I don't even know why I am responding to this obvious bait. You clearly have a chip on the shoulder for masked hero's to the point that you don't even have an argument and decide to just 🔥 me without addressing the points I made. This is a RNG game. Ofc "hypothetically" you can lose 1 game out of 10. How out of touch can you be with the current gamestate?
strawmaning -> strawmanning
obvious bait -> tautology
masked hero's -> Masked Heroes
to the point that -> to the point where
and decide -> incorrect use of conjunction
ofc -> Of course
hypothetically you can -> bad sentence structure
1 game out of 10 -> 1 out of 10 games
gamestate - state of the game
