That aside, I didn't know Kalin was a Zombie (at least as a Dark Signer) kinda poetic, because he dueled Yusei while being an apparition? I guess he was dead already in the time both dueled. Sad story.

He has beaten up and wasnt given food
Then the earthbound immortals offered him to take revenge on yusei so he gave up his life and reborn a dark signer
