It was just konami being konami, the problem wasn't burn damage what drove all players ma d were the stall tactics that are all over the game, but of course konami would never ban their expensive stall tool staples (looking at you floodgate), they ki lled a play style entirely instead
yep, the whole "konami hates burn" thing is actually a scapegoat move from konami, proven by the fact that they still make new burn stuff occasionally.
