Real Free-to-Play would say: I don't really bother competing against EX packs, because I already have over 10.000 gems to buy whatever I want. It's not that difficult to farm. And also I've won against silent magician plenty of times, so I can't complain at all !

It is more difficult to get gems now than it was in the past. I am from Brazil, our cultures are very different: i would never spend money on a game, but i do not try to stay competitive so i do not have that problem.

How exactly do I farm 10000 gems this late in game?
All my characters are 45 or 40+, meaning lvling any one character up one level takes 2-3 days of a few hours of play.
The only other way of getting gems is daily 5 gems from watching a video, daily 5-10 gems of clicking on the fountain/trash can etc., the massive weekly 15-20 gems from the weekly quest and events, which give 100-350.

Even if I played the game 10 hours a day (which, sadly, I'm not far from), if I started grinding gems now (including farming lvl 40 legendary duelists), it would probably take me about 2-3 months (including future event gems), and all that without spending a single gem in the shop.

You guys always refer to gems being "easy to farm" from the perspective of a newer player who still has a boat load of gems to obtain via lower level character and stage levelling.
What about someone who's already exhausted or nearly exhausted those sources of gem income?

because in the case of new players, they don't have any good or staple cards. So they gotta waste their gems to get staple cards first before getting any other cards. No different.

Many new decks don't require older box cards.
But I see your point, kinda.
Either way, real F2P players are more and more screwed as time goes by.
I'm playing like a maniac and I'm still several boxes behind current meta content or I have to skip multiple boxes just to get a decent mini box deck fully set up.

Some people just praise the game to a sick level.
If you really were f2p and you have all characters 40+ and are at max Stage, you will see that you will barely make any gems for the newest boxes.
You may have got good cards from the old boxes, but the newest boxes will have better cards due to this game's powercreep.
