The original card game did the exact same thing, somewhat mirroring the show. The longer the game continued, the more accessible stronger monsters became. The strongest vanilla atm is 1850 with no defense and is weakened by a field spell, there's no way they're going to bring monsters with respectable defense + boosted by field spells with 1900 attack. It took 3 months to go from Dunames -> Impachi lol, no way it's taking 2 months to go from Impachi -> Luster Dragon and Gemini Elf
