The problem with Konami is that they don't understand a simple Issue. Casual players won't suddenly become Competitive/Credit Card user players. Competitive players will keep on purchasing stuff and, just like that, casual players will keep playing based on the bonuses they gain from the game. Also, if any casual player has enough gems to build a (semi) competitive deck, some of them may think "Hey, maybe I can spend a couple of dollars to make this deck competitive and play seriously". But Konami wasted this chance and, instead, made the users angry. One possible solution: Konami's Event-End Surveys are actually pretty useful, because many of the recent new features were developed thanks to the users comments from the surveys. I think telling Konami directly about the players dissatisfaction about the gem Issue might make them think a bit about it (or maybe not). But this will only happen if lots of players complain to them like that. I don´t know, it's just my opinion. But the game can still be saved if we (the users) actually tell Konami about the aspects of the game we don't like. But anyway, the next Duel-a-Thon will be key to see if we keep getting few gems of things return to normal.
