.....Most of the voices are old records from the anime.
The VAs only came back for short lines like "I Link Summon a monster!" or something like Arkana having a voice line for D/D Pandora because of his Japanese name. And lines for manga original cards, of which there aren't many.
VAs are not cheap, yes, but it's not like they have to re-record every single thing either.
I don't think it costs 'more money' per say. It'll cost the company money to continue to employ their developers, so it'll cost them roughly the same amount to continue to develop the game and include new material as they've spent up to this point.
@Original Poster Dang, what a tool.... Defending their foolish actions just so they can pay VAs like BOI! You do realize there are many players who have spent tons of money on this game right? I count myself but the only thing I bought was the Silent Magician EX deck. Also this is Konami, a billion dollar company. So them cutting down gems isn't a good reason for any of this.
I'm not defending konami, I was once worked as freelance dev on a certain team so I know how stuff work here, and paying VA cost more than you ever imagine. Your ex deck payment barely 1% of how much VA paid.
This game was a straight profit from day 1. They're fine, and most of the voice work was already done ahead of time. It's part of why we Knew both GX and 5Ds along with the other world's were going to be added eventually.
