Arc-v brought some really good decks and archtypes but is also probably one of the worst yugiohs from a narrative pov due to how lazy the writers are. Any difficult situation is solved by pulling an action card. Essentially just making up the story as they go along. It was pathetic and lazy.
Action cards were fine IMO. Most of the other series did much the same thing, just with actual drawn backrow cards that'd be too weak to be worth using IRL. Also, they deliberately poke fun at how exploitable they are at times (especially Moon Shadow's use of them).
The main letdown of Arc-V for me was Zarc being a pretty crappy villain. Not that most series have good villains, but eh.
Action cards are very lazy.
Instead of coming up with an actual strategy or use of cards/effects to break the opponent's board or combos - just use an action card that automatically counters it.
No actual thinking or strategising required.
It became too frequently used that whenever I see yuya struggle in a match, I just know: "oh.. action card right?" and it's usually "yup".
If action cards were used in duel monsters, joey wheeler would have been an instant champ even while he was still a noob.
In fact, joey could practically kick yuya's 🔥 in a duel if they used action cards.
My favorite Yuya cheating was the duel against Aster, where he used a monster's "when this card is summoned" effect, BEFORE the monster actually hits the field.
dude... no character is a cheater... (well, with some minor exceptions), they just play the cards "that suspicious way" in order to narrate the duel / story
I hope they will add a line for Wall of Disruption aka Bundan no Kabe ! even if He only played it once lol I mean, how many KB/s is it going to occupy? lol
Yuya will take quite a while to come to duel links, probably a whole year. But Im seeing more players lately so I think its totally possible to get him as playable
