The event should specify that the fusion monsters that you have to "use" to get additional rewards (15 coins) MUST be "Fusion Summoned". For example, when you duel Rex using Joey and one of requisites to get more coins is "Use Flame Swordsman", if you summon it with other methods (ie summoner of illusions), then it doesn't 🔥ing count. Another example: If you use Hex-Sealed fusion's effect to summon B.Skull Dragon it doesn't count either.

I actually used serket since it only takes 2 slots. It was similar with the "use glossy card", regardless of the the summoning method it still counts. I knew this because I used glossy master of oz which I summoned using serket. But in this event it doesn't work that way.
