Veil of Darkness works perfectly: just make sure to run 1 Backup Soldier (no more, no less) so you can discard 3 limbs for extra drawing power. Here's what got me to KoG:
3x Whiptail Crow
3x Feral Imp
3x Dark Rabbit
3x Yaiba Robo
1x Gorgon Egg
1x Heart of the Underdog
3x Reload
2x Veil of Darkness
1x Backup Soldiers
So yeah, very cheap to build. If you don't have Reload, you can substitute 2 more Gorgon Eggs and 1 Ryu-Kishin Powered, but it's more risky then.
