Engines are put in decks that have synergy. Lightsworn clearly has synergy with this, whether you are running just Twilight Ryko, or a Chaos build, with Betrayer, or, (shudder)Levianeer. A pure build of this could be good, but that might not be enough. Engines power a deck, and let it move forward. I don’t get why people suddenly dislike engines, when even pure decks rely on interior engines.
The TCG has an even bigger focus on that, with the Halqifibrax into Linkross combo, and other engines. If you think it is just “Duel Links simple players”, then you are clearly mistaken, and are just looking for something to complain about. Do I complain about Invoked? Yes. Do I think it needs to be banned? Maybe. Do I think people shouldn’t put it everywhere? No! It provides variety.
And finally, Neos Fusion is not nearly as good as it used to be. It is nowhere near as universal in such a fast meta. You go into it, and your combos end. The card promotes strategy, in some decks. You need to build a deck around it, and sure, Brave is decent, but that’s really due to Fusion. If Brave wasn’t generic, it would be terrible. You are complaining for no reason.
Yes, they are. Small individual engines, but yes. Any generic support that provides advantage through a specific trait is an engine. I might just be speaking out my arse.
