That is why you need to spend your gems and UR/SR dream ticket smart. Collect all the staple cards instead of wasting them. You can always play with 10 staple spell/traps in a deck + 10 monsters. If Konami nerf your monsters, just create a new deck with your staple cards. Floodgate, Cosmic Cyclone, WoD, Sphere Kuriboh, Forbidden Lance, Dimensional Prison are some of the really good staples.
I on the contrary regret raning up from silver rank and Gold rank. Since I reached legends 4 All the enemies just play copy/paste from DUEL LINKS META. DKayed killed the game for F2P. In the lower ranks you never see the same deck twice. Even the more generic ones. Everything was a breath of fresh ait compared to boring Legends. Guess the title Legendary is synonymous to underwhelming or boring.
Not a waste, and dont regret. I get legend 3 with nobles (july2020), simply add a mix with shiranui and mordschalg, this is my recipe for competitive noble knight:
